Barbara is queen of spreading misinformation unfortunately so she needs to be corrected. Sugar is NOT acidic, here’s the science: pH measures the concentration of hydrogen ions (H⁺) in a solution. Acids release H⁺ ions, lowering pH, while bases absorb H⁺ ions, increasing pH. Sucrose (table sugar) does neither. It dissolves in water without releasing or absorbing hydrogen ions, meaning it doesn’t alter the pH—it stays neutral (pH ~7). Pure sucrose (table or white sugar) does not contribute to acidification when metabolized. Unlike proteins, which break down into acidic byproducts, sucrose is metabolized into CO₂ and water, both neutral compounds. Barbara O’Neill need to stop pseudoscientific nonsense about sugar. So no, sugar doesn’t make water acidic. It’s neutral, just like pure water. Learn more in my books, 12 month course and 1:1 coaching. Link in bio.
